“We sold a house in Newinbosch off plan for R3,3m, which the purchaser sold for R3,86m less than a year later – at a profit of R560 000,” explains Harold Spies, Founder and CEO of Similan Group. “The second purchaser had to pay around R287 000 transfer fees and R60 000 bond costs, which means that the second purchaser paid about R900 000 more for the same property.”

“Another property was bought for R2,295m and sold for R2,8m, a profit of R505 000.  We have many of these examples, which is very encouraging not only for an investor, but also for a first-time home buyer, as the property will only accumulate value over a longer period of time.”
